FW Murphy Announces New Line of Generator Control Panels
(Tulsa, OK – March 23, 2006) FW Murphy has announced a new line of control panels for the generator set market.
The newly redesigned and expanded Murphy Generator Control (MGC) panel line combines the latest Murphy products with the speed and precision of our Industrial Panel Division’s manufacturing capabilities. The result is a broad range of high quality panels at competitive prices and shorter lead times.
“The MGC panels cover all levels of use, from basic manual start to full-featured auto-start,” said Chris Autry, genset market manager at Murphy. “Each standard panel is designed for maximum flexibility, allowing customers to choose the instrumentation to fit their specific application.”
The current line includes:
- MGC 25 – AC meter module with analog AC metering for volts, amps, frequency; as well as hour meter and phase selector switch.
- MGC 50 – Basic panel in a compact enclosure with AC voltmeter and limited options. Autostart version includes Cascade controller.
- MGC 100 – Primarily intended for mechanical engines, this panel features choice of gages (mechanical or electric), full analog AC metering, hour meter and a host of options. Auto-start version includes Cascade controller.
- MGC 150 – For use with J-1939 electronic engines. Includes full analog AC metering and hour meter. Optional PowerView™ display provides engine operating parameters and fault codes. Auto-start version includes Cascade controller.
- MGC 300 – Features the iGuard™ digital controller with integrated display for AC metering, engine parameters, warnings and faults. Compatible with mechanical or electronic engines. Basic I/O is wired to terminal strips.
- MGC 350 – Same features as the MGC 300 in a larger enclosure with complete I/O wired to terminal strips.
The optional Murphy Electronic Harness with quick disconnect feature allows for accurate and easy connectivity to electronic engines. This harness is available for the MGC150, MGC300 and MGC350 panels.
“Our new panels are competitively priced and available with much shorter lead times than previous offerings, typically 2 weeks or less for standard panels,” Autry said. “Through our volume production and lean manufacturing methods, we are able to control costs and improve turnaround times.”
The panels offer high quality construction, with such features as powder coated sheet metal enclosures, integral shock mounts and attractive panel front overlays. All panels are assembled on Murphy’s dedicated panel production line and are functional tested prior to shipment.
