FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 05, 2006 FW Murphy Launches New Battery Charger Product Line for Genset Market (Tulsa, OK – December 05, 2006) FMost gensets fail to start because of a problem with the battery. In order to keep batteries in optimal condition, FW Murphy is expanding its line of power generation products with a series of high-quality battery chargers, announced Terry Baldwin, VP of the Industrial business unit at FW Murphy. “These chargers are now available as a supplement to our generator set product line,” Baldwin said. “It allows our customers to do one-stop shopping when they are buying a Murphy control panel or gage.” Murphy will offer four options of battery chargers. The Guardian model features three variations – 12v/10a, 24v/10a and 24v/20a. The Sentry delivers 12v/5a. These four models cover the majority of the demand in this market, Baldwin said. “We are packaging the most commonly used chargers with certain higher-quality features in order to maintain a standard inventory and focus on faster shipping and delivery. The Murphy Guardian and Sentry chargers offer several additional value-added options included as standard features. Those features include:
“A lot of these features are typically options found on premium-priced chargers. But we are making them standard features to match Murphy’s commitment to creating top-quality products,” said Baldwin. Additional features on the Guardian include less than 1% ripple to permit charging of sealed or vented batteries; short circuit and reverse polarity protection; plus NFPA 110 relay outputs. The Sentry features a charge failure relay. “We are also using the strengths of our order fulfillment system to deliver these chargers faster. We can typically ship battery charger orders by the next business day,” Baldwin added. Contact Murphy for more information at (918) 317-4100 or visit our web site at www.fwmurphy.com.
