FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 26, 2007 FW Murphy Adds John H. Carter Company (Tulsa, OK – Feb. 26, 2007) FW Murphy has announced that John H. Carter Company has become the newest dealer in its international oil & gas distribution network. John H. Carter will provide sales and service for the complete range of Murphy oil and gas products, including the Murphy Power Ignition line. Carter will also offer technical support within their local area. Murphy is building a network of dealers that will combine a new level of technical expertise and service with their existing sales support. These dealers will have staff on hand to provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to customers within their local region. "Our newer products are more advanced and require more expertise," said Darrell Schmitt, southeast territory sales manager for Murphy. "Updates to our dealer network are designed to highlight technical service as well as sales." "This will provide better focus on local support and sales of our products,” Schmitt said. “It will be much faster and easier for our customers." John H. Carter has 50 service technicians on staff, supporting a full range of mechanical and process control needs. Its service area for Murphy will cover Alabama, Mississippi, southern Louisiana and the Florida panhandle. Repairs and installation will be performed by EngineWorx, John H. Carter's wholly-owned subsidiary that specializes in engine controls and optimization. The company also has an ignition repair center in Lafayette, LA, that will support the Murphy Power Ignition product line. Along with localized service, the company will stock an extensive inventory of Murphy equipment for quick delivery and quick turnaround, said Charlie Fournier, executive vice president of John. H. Carter. “We plan to provide a lot of technical expertise on the higher end of the product line, particularly the Murphy controls, panels and ignition systems.” "John H. Carter has the technical expertise to deliver. They've been in business for more than 75 years, they have a broad geographic region and a strong history of providing product services and solutions for the oil and gas industry," Schmitt added. John H. Carter provides a wide range of products, services and equipment, including process control systems and instrumentation, control valves, regulators, actuators, automated valves, pumps and filtration. “We are a growing solutions provider for the natural gas industry, and the Murphy product line gives us a more comprehensive offering to the compression segment,” Fournier said. John H. Carter’s services include asset management, process optimization, equipment diagnostics and a wide array of field-repair and operation assistance.
