FW Murphy Releases Upgraded PowerView™ 101
(Tulsa, OK – April 12, 2007) FW Murphy has announced an upgrade to its award-winning PowerView 100 display. The new version features an upgraded processor, as well as several additional features designed to extend the product’s durability and flexibility.
The new version, called the PowerView 101 display, upgraded the core processor for better performance. The upgrade process also gave Murphy the opportunity to add several new features that enhance the overall experience of using a PowerView display.
“A lot of these new features came from our customers,” said Chris Wunsch, Murphy’s Industrial Panel Division General Manager, who has worked closely with the PowerView system development . “We constantly listen to customer feedback and use it to improve our products.”
The first noticeable improvement is the extra robustness. The PowerView 101 has been rebuilt with an improved case design for more durability in even the harshest environments. The voltage range also has been widened to 6.5 - 32 VDC.
The PowerView 101 interface has been upgraded with brighter backlighting and improved LED alarm lights. The keypad has also been modified to provide more sensitive buttons for lighter, faster controls.
Additional flexibility has been added to the PowerView 101 with an option for fuel sender input. Italian has also been added as a fifth language option. The PowerView 101 can now translate ECU codes to English, Spanish, French, German and Italian text.
The PowerView 101 display is also compatible with all of Murphy’s current J1939 gages, as well as additional J1939 I/O modules coming in 2007. It is also fully backward compatible with the PowerView 100.
“All of these improvements in durability, interface and installment options make the PowerView 101 an even better value for J1939 electronic engines,” Wunsch said.
The PowerView 101 display can be used as a drop-in replacement. Despite it’s additional features, the display’s size dimensions have only changed slightly. “We expect that the size changes will be barely noticeable. It shouldn’t affect most applications,” Wunsch said.
